The game of Baccarat, is derived from Chemin De Fer, one of Europe’s oldest and most popular card games. The game is simple to play. You can bet on the Player’s side, the Bank side, or on a Tie hand. Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards and is dealt from a shoe, similar to Blackjack.
Four cards are dealt, the first and third to the Player’s hand, the second and fourth to the Banker’s hand. The object of the game is to make a point total of 9, or as close to it as possible.
Aces count as one, 2 through 9 as their face value, and tens and picture cards as zero. For example: 10 and 6=6 2, Ace and Queen = 3 The Dealer announces the point total of both hands; if either one totals 8 or 9, it is called a “Natural” and no additional cards are dealt. If necessary, the Dealer will request that a third card be dealt, face up, first to the Player’s hand, and then to the Banker’s hand. No more than one additional card may be dealt to either hand, the drawing of the third card being governed by the following fixed rules: RULES: PLAYER When the first two cards total: 1-2-3-4-5-0 – Draws 6-7 – Stands 8-9 – Natural, Stands RULES: BANKER When the Player stands on 6 or 7, the Banker will always draw on totals of 0-1-2-3-4-5, and stand on 6-7-8-9.
When the Player does not have a Natural, the Banker shall always draw on the totals of 0-1-2, and then observe the following rules: When the first two cards total: Banker Having: Draw when Player’s Third Card is: Stand when Player’s Third Card is: 3 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-9-0 8 4 2-3-4-5-6-7 1-8-9-0 5 4-5-6-7 1-2-3-8-9-0 6 6-7 1-2-3-4-5-8-9-0 7 Stand 8-9 Natural – Stand Whichever hand total closest to 9 will be the winning hand. The winning bets will be paid even money (1 to 1). A 5% commission (vigorish) is charged on all winning bank wagers. These commissions must be paid by the end of each shoe, at the latest. When both Player’s hand and Banker’s hand have equal totals, a Tie is declared; neither one wins or loses. In this case, the Tie Bet wins and pays 8 to 1.
When the Player’s hand wins, the shoe passes counterclockwise to the next participant in the game. Mini Baccarat The game of Mini-Baccarat is played by the same rules as the game of Baccarat. However, instead of playing at a large table that seats fourteen Players and has three Dealers, it is played on a table similar to a Blackjack table which seats seven Players and has one Dealer. The payouts and odds in Mini-Baccarat are exactly the same as in Baccarat. IMPORTANT: Players may not handle, remove or alter any cards used in the game of Mini-Baccarat.
